Christians and Jesus Christ

Many Christians believe that there is a certain level of responsibility that they have towards Jesus Christ. First and foremost, many Christians believe that Jesus Christ was the one who gave them the opportunity to live life everlasting. By Jesus dying on the cross for their sins, He gave them the opportunity to be freed from sin with the forgiveness of God. Since Jesus has provided such a means to members of the Christian faith, they feel the sense of entitlement to forever show their thanks for what He has done. The belief by many Christians is that they are to devote some, if not all of their time, towards telling people about Jesus. Many Christian churches work to reinforce this to many of their members. The belief is that you do not have to be the priest of a ministry in order to teach people about Jesus Christ, but this is an act that you may take on even in your day to day efforts. Even in a polite one on one conversation, you may speak to people about Jesus Christ about what He has done for you, and what He will do for others. If people are willing and able to do this on a more widespread scale, then this is often encouraged, but as long as people give their best in order to spread the good news of Jesus, then that is simply enough.

Another major responsibility that Christians often feel in regards to Jesus Christ is that they must behave like Christ. Most Christians have come to realize that they can not be just like Jesus Christ. They know that it is important to do our best to be like Jesus, but there is only so much that we can do in light of our human tendencies. Nevertheless, Christians will give their very best to be like Jesus. In giving their best, this often means that they work to do what the Word says. This is where the popularity of the “What Would Jesus Do?” trademark and associated paraphernalia came into play. Many people have come to realize that by simply making those righteous choices during the course of their every day lives at any given moment, constitutes fairly enough to being like Jesus Christ. With the “What Would Jesus Do?” phenomenon, not only were Christians trying their very best to be like Jesus Christ, but so was just about anyone that believed that they had to take on the responsibility of sacrifice for Jesus.
